Update Tracker
Checked through EA patch 0.1.5 · July 2026
Official patch notes, player impact notes, and the development roadmap for Paralives Early Access.
What to Do After a Patch
Early Access patches can fix crashes while still breaking mods or old assumptions in community guides.
- Duplicate your main save before launching the new build — label the copy with the version number.
- Read Known Issues below, then skim guides you rely on (cheats, careers, build) if a command or job board changed.
- Disable all mods, confirm the game loads, then re-enable Workshop items one at a time — newest update date first.
July 2026 Media Signal: Why Players Are Still Watching
Recent coverage from large gaming and mainstream outlets points to the same pattern: Paralives is not being judged as a finished life sim yet. It is being judged as a creative, community-shaped alternative with unusually strong customization and a roadmap players want to follow.
Guardian · July 3, 2026
Mainstream coverage highlighted the game\'s fast Early Access sales, player interest, body inclusivity, and appeal to life-sim fans looking beyond The Sims.
PC Gamer · Early Access preview
PC Gamer framed the game as very Early Access: promising, creative, and especially interesting for Paramaker and Build Mode, but still rough in Live Mode.
GamesRadar · Builder coverage
GamesRadar\'s build-focused coverage reinforces why this site should keep Build Mode, Paramaker, mods, and patch-safe workflows near the center of the guide strategy.
What this means for players
If you are deciding whether to start now, play Paralives for creation, experimentation, and community feedback. If you want deep Live Mode progression with minimal rough edges, follow patches first and keep a test save ready.
Patch 0.1.5
Save safety, Steam Cloud, appearance editing, and lot recovery
Full official notes: paralives.com/news (July 2, 2026).
- check_circleSave files are smaller, three autosaves are kept, and Steam Cloud support is now available.
- check_circleBroken lots can be recovered more safely, making build-heavy saves less fragile after experiments.
- check_circleAppearance can be edited through mirrors, hospitals, and pharmacies, but labels, personality, and life stage stay protected.
- check_circleThe Mods menu can toggle all mods on or off, which makes after-patch testing faster.
- check_circleLeaving for work or school late after canceling the action now has a performance consequence.
Original player read
0.1.5 is not a flashy content patch; it is a trust patch. Save resilience, Steam Cloud, lot recovery, and safer appearance edits reduce the cost of experimenting with Build Mode, Paramaker, and mods.
Patch 0.1.4
Workshop quality-of-life and mod loading clarity
Full official notes: paralives.com/news (June 20, 2026).
- check_circleSteam Workshop tags and browsing improved, making CC and mod discovery less chaotic.
- check_circleThe game now communicates mod loading more clearly, so players know whether a long startup is normal or stuck.
- check_circleThis patch mainly supports creators and mod users; vanilla story saves still benefit from clearer patch hygiene.
Original player read
0.1.4 makes Workshop safer to browse, but not risk-free. Use tags to choose smaller mod categories, then test one category at a time before opening a main household.
Patch 0.1.3
Latest official patch — first post-launch Live Mode features
Full official notes: paralives.com/news (June 6, 2026).
- check_circleParalives × Unpacking collab: play Unpacking on the computer, collect stamps, and place Unpacking plushies and decor.
- check_circleEat as a group: each Para now grabs and eats a portion during group meals.
- check_circleTeen romance: teenagers can flirt and enter romantic relationships with other teenagers.
- check_circleAccessibility: adjust how fast trees and buildings fade when blocking the camera (photosensitivity option).
- check_circleSave system improvements to reduce corruption risk; duplicate saves and library exports still recommended.
- check_circleTelescope use now increases Astronomy skill; water-bill overcharge bug fixed.
- check_circleWorkshop: fixed playing with more than 50 mods; train doors no longer hide Paramaker height slider.
- check_circleMore activities now raise Fun (hopscotch, sandcastle, plushies, dance, games, TV, and more).
What changes for your save
After updating: run HELP once if you use cheats; test teen romance on a duplicated save; try group meals for evening Together progress; tweak camera fade in Settings if tight lots bother you. Export or duplicate saves before heavy Workshop stacks.
Hotfix 0.1.3b
Fixed players stuck on a “Reimporting assets” screen when launching with Steam Workshop mods installed.
Launch with all Workshop items disabled, confirm the save loads, then subscribe again one mod at a time—newest update date first. Keep a mod-free copy for story progress.
warningKnown Issues (Official)

- infoFire still hard to control: use the ExtinguishAllFires cheat if issues persist after the patch.
- infoParafolk thumbnails may not update — fix in progress.
- infoMac inputs: some players struggle with clicks/camera; try a mouse instead of the trackpad.
Patch 0.1.3: What to Try on Your Save
Released June 6, 2026 (official)—the first post-launch Live Mode patch. Treat it as three playable additions plus housekeeping: teen romance, group meals, and Workshop stability—not just decor from the Unpacking collab.
Teen romance (sandbox first)
Teens can flirt and date other teens now, but life-stage gates still control pink cards. Duplicate your household, label it Sandbox, and test flirt pacing there before you SETAGE-skip childhood on your main file. See the Relationships guide and Life Stages milestones.
Group meals for Together
Use Eat as a group at dinner so each Para grabs a portion—good for family saves and post-work social recovery. Stack it after you top Hunger; cranky Paras pick worse conversation cards.
Workshop: 50+ mods and 0.1.3b load fix
0.1.3 raised the Workshop ceiling past 50 mods; hotfix 0.1.3b (June 12) fixed launches stuck on “Reimporting assets.” Still duplicate a mod-free save before stacking subscriptions—see the Mod guide.
Unpacking collab (optional)
Play Unpacking on the in-game computer, collect stamps, and place plushies—purely cosmetic fun. Do not delay your first job grind for collectibles unless you are on a creative save.
- check_circleAfter updating: run HELP once if you use cheats; camera fade is in Settings if trees block tight lots.
- check_circleTelescope sessions now train Astronomy; more sandbox activities raise Fun (hopscotch, TV, dance, etc.).
- check_circleExport or duplicate saves before heavy mod lists—save corruption is rarer after 0.1.3, not impossible.
Steam Workshop milestone
Official news (June 3, 2026): players have uploaded 13,000+ Workshop items. Browse mods and CC on Steam — always check last-updated dates after each game patch.
Hotfix 0.1.2b
Fixed a 0.1.2 bug where installs on a different drive than the OS could not change display language or install mods.
If language or Workshop broke right after 0.1.2, update to 0.1.2b+ first. Still keep a mod-free save copy—later patches assume Workshop works but stacks can still hang until 0.1.3b.
Patch 0.1.2
Performance and train-intro hotfix
Full official notes: paralives.com/news (May 29, 2026).
- check_circleMemory management improved to fix a memory leak and reduce crashes.
- check_circleFixed UI windows that sometimes could not be closed.
- check_circleFire: Parafolk can autonomously try to extinguish burning items; stairs no longer catch fire; flames should stay on-lot; firefighter and panic-cancel fixes.
- check_circleChinese input works for Para names in Paramaker and in other text fields.
- check_circleNew save files now receive the developer welcome letter correctly.
- check_circleParamaker fixes: white lips on mouth presets, nude randomize bug, train window divider to ease motion sickness.
- check_circlePersonality tiers no longer level so fast that notifications spam endlessly.
- check_circleSave system improvements; swatch changes no longer leave undeletable duplicate items.
- check_circleTrain intro: relationship editor no longer blocks finishing the ride.
- check_circlePathfinding optimized to reduce lag when Townies route in Melino.
- check_circleQoL: hungry Parafolk buy vending snacks; tired ones use lounge chairs; telescope use ends when astronomy events finish.
- check_circleMain-menu load up to ~20% faster; OS “app not responding” popup removed during loading.
What changes for your save
Train intro should finish without the relationship editor blocking you; fires behave more predictably on-lot; Chinese names work in Paramaker. Still duplicate saves—corruption is rarer, not impossible.
Patch 0.1.2 & Hotfix 0.1.2b: What Changed for Your Save
Released May 29, 2026 (official)—the first post-launch EA patch. It is mostly stability and QoL, not new careers or life stages. Update before you blame mods for a frozen train intro, runaway fires, or Workshop installs that silently fail.
Finish the train intro
0.1.2 closes the relationship editor panel that blocked the Melino train ride. Stuck on day one? Patch, reload, and complete the intro before job boards—see the day-one checklist.
Fire is calmer (keep a cheat backup)
Official fixes: Paras can try to extinguish burning items, stairs no longer ignite, flames stay on-lot, and firefighter panic cancels less often. The patch notes still list fire as a known pain point—test stoves on a sandbox lot; use ExtinguishAllFires from the cheat guide if smoke spreads.
Saves and personality notifications
Save-system hardening plus swatch-change duplicate deletes. Personality tiers no longer level so fast that notifications spam forever. Still duplicate slots and export households per the save safety guide—corruption is rarer, not impossible.
Advanced Build Widget still risky
Official known issue carried from 0.1.2: items moved with the advanced widget may reset after reload. Manual-save before precision placement and verify positions once after reloading—do not trust widget moves on your only story file.
Hotfix 0.1.2b — language and mods on alt drives
June 1 official hotfix: if the game lives on a different drive than Windows/macOS, 0.1.2 broke display-language changes and Workshop installs. On 0.1.2b+, retest language in Settings, then subscribe mods one at a time; keep a mod-free duplicate before stacking 50+ items (0.1.3 later raised that cap).
- check_circleQoL: hungry Paras buy vending snacks; tired ones use lounge chairs—fewer false refusals than launch week.
- check_circleChinese character input works in Paramaker names and other text fields after 0.1.2 (official localization fix).
- check_circleMain-menu loading is up to ~20% faster with no OS “app not responding” popup; if launches hang on “Reimporting assets,” you need hotfix 0.1.3b—not 0.1.2b alone.
Day 0 Patch

- check_circleAll 5 restaurants now allow food purchases at the counter.
- check_circleCollectibles (mushrooms, gems, artifacts) now have correct rarity sell prices.
- check_circleRare collectible spawn rates have been increased.

- check_circleFixed train ticket display — now correctly shows "To: MELINO".
