Together Cards, Labels, Romance & Marriage — Complete System Guide
6 Card Colors · Multiple Labels · Label-Based System
How Relationships Work
- check_circleParalives uses a label-based relationship system — not a single progress bar.
- check_circleTwo Paras can hold multiple labels at once (e.g. Friend + Coworker + Neighbor + Lover).
- check_circleEach label can level up as the bond deepens.
- groupsRelationships grow through shared time — no need to micromanage a social queue.
- diversity_3When two Paras share a group (chatting, activities, or just hanging out), bonds develop naturally.
- psychologyVibe, mood, Traits, and Stats affect which Together Cards appear and their success rates.
First-Day Social Plan
Start with low-risk white and green cards, then let two or three Paras share simple activities. Your goal is not to rush romance on day one; it is to create reliable Friend labels so later cards become safer and more varied.
Think in Labels, Not Meters
A Para can be a coworker, neighbor, friend, crush, and rival at the same time. Use that flexibility for stories: build work friends for career play, neighbors for town life, and close friends before serious romance.
Together Cards
Together Cards steer conversations. After two Paras talk, the Together Bar fills; when full, you choose 1 of 3 cards.
| Color | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| ⬜ White | Neutral talk | Basic interaction — good for first meetings |
| 🟢 Green | Friendly talk | Build friendship; advance friendship labels |
| 🔵 Dark blue | Learn / grow | Boost skill growth; toddlers learn language |
| 🩷 Pink | Romance / flirt | Advance romance; shows success chance % |
| 🔴 Red | Negative / conflict | Build hostile relationships |
| 🟣 Purple | Special | Unlock specific relationship milestones |
- infoOptions are not random — they depend on mood, Vibe, recent events, skills, and relationship state.
- favoritePink cards show success %; avoid forcing low-odds flirts.
- sentiment_dissatisfiedFailed flirts cause awkwardness and lower future success chances.
- warningJester + Serious pairing gets -20 to romantic interactions.
How to Pick Cards Safely
If you are unsure, choose the card that matches the relationship you are trying to protect. Green is the safest default, blue is good when you want growth during family time, pink should wait for good mood and decent odds, and red should be saved for intentional drama.
Relationship Labels
Labels define what two Paras are to each other; multiple labels can coexist:
- groupFriendship: Stranger → Acquaintance → Friend → Close Friend → Best Friend
- favoriteRomance: Romantic Interest → Lover → Fiancée → Spouse
- family_restroomFamily: Parent / Child / Sibling / Grandparent, etc.
- apartmentOther: Neighbor, Coworker, Enemy, Rival, Childhood Friend
Contradictory labels can coexist (e.g. Lover + Enemy) — relationships can be as messy as real life.
Building Friendship
- check_circleFriendship is the foundation of most bonds and the easiest to build.
- check_circleShared group time alone will grow friendship.
- check_circleGreen cards speed friendship progress.
- forumHigher friendship unlocks more dialogue (e.g. inside jokes).
- groupsMultiselect group hangouts are far more efficient than one-on-one only.
Best activities for friendship:
- restaurantEat together
- tvWatch TV together
- music_notePractice instruments or dance together
- festivalAttend town events
Reliable Friendship Routine
For a new save, invite one target Para into a small group, eat or watch TV together, then choose green cards when they appear. Repeat over several short sessions instead of forcing one long social grind while needs are falling.
Romance & Dating
Step 1: Build friendship first
Use white and green cards to reach Friend before pushing romance.
Step 2: Introduce pink cards
When pink cards appear, check success % before using.
Success factors:
- Both have Romantic Interest: big boost
- "Good at Romantic Relationships" Perk: boost
- Both in a good mood (Happy): boost
- Vibe clash (Jester + Serious): -20 penalty
- Bad mood (Sad/Angry): lower odds
Step 3: Romantic Interest
After several successful pink cards, unlock the Romantic Interest label.
Step 4: Official relationship
Use "Ask to be in a relationship together" — success makes you Lovers.
Step 5: Intimacy
As Lovers, use a double bed or bathroom and choose "Get Intimate" (both must be in the same group).
If Romance Fails
Do not immediately spam more pink cards. Switch back to friendly or neutral time, fix mood and needs, then try again later when the success percentage improves. One failed flirt is manageable; repeated failures can turn a simple crush into an awkward relationship loop.
Together Bar: What Actually Fills It
Relationships grow through shared activities and Together Cards—not spammed greetings. The bar fills while two Parafolk do quality time; cranky needs slow every card.
Fast progress (week one)
Eat together, watch TV, hopscotch, or sit at a café—activities you click during an ongoing conversation. Patch 0.1.3 group meals give each Para a portion—great for families after work.
When it stalls
Top Hunger, Energy, and Fun before long chats. Stop and retry tomorrow if only red or low-% cards appear—failed flirts add awkwardness. Check compatibility in the Relationships tab if the same Para keeps offering negatives.
White/green = safe friendship; pink = romance once familiarity exists; red = rivalry/enemy arcs. Stack the same color several times and Storyteller may offer a Label upgrade.
Three tracks in practice
- Café small talk + green/white cards → Friend labels. Gym or hobby buddies work if talents align—similar vibes get better card odds.
- Date scenery (café booth, park) + pink cards when success % looks reasonable. Adult romance gates differ from teen 0.1.3 rules—see the teen section before SETAGE shortcuts.
- Red cards on purpose for drama saves—enemy + friend labels can coexist. Do not mix enemy grinding on your only Story household without a backup.
Social Perks that match playstyle
Paramaker Social Perks change pacing—not raw stat cheats.
- Good at Being Alone: less pressure to micro-manage every acquaintance—pair with solo career grinds.
- Good at Making Friends: faster early circles—still needs topped-off needs or cards turn sour.
Teen Romance After Patch 0.1.3
Patch 0.1.3 let teenagers flirt and date other teenagers—stage still controls which interactions unlock. Plan teen storylines on a sandbox copy before you alter ages on your main save.
Respect life stage gates
Teen romance interactions require teen stages on both sides. SETAGE shortcuts skip school weeks and Label progression you have not played yet—those gates matter for eligible pink cards.
Build the Together bar like adults
Quality time still beats spam greetings: shared meals (especially group eating after 0.1.3), homework at the library, or hobbies in Old Town. Top needs first—cranky teens pick worse cards.
Use a sandbox household
Duplicate the family, label the slot Sandbox, and test flirt pacing there. Keep strikes, school, and career honesty on your Story save.
Common mistakes
Do not rush pink cards at low success %. Failed flirts add awkwardness and make the next attempt harder—stack green friendship cards until odds look reasonable.
Marriage
⚠️ EA has no wedding ceremony yet — full weddings are planned for a future update. Elope is the only marriage path for now.
- 1Build a solid bond and reach Lovers.
- 2Wait for a Flirty moodlet, then pick the "Propose to..." Want.
- 3Use the propose pink card when it appears — check success % first.
- 4On success, both become Fiancée.
- 5In "Discuss Relationship" cards, choose Elope to marry.
- 6No big ceremony — ring exchange and vows only.
Enemies
- reportRed cards push negative relationships.
- sync_altFriend + Enemy at the same time is possible.
- healingEnmity can be repaired: stop red cards, keep using green cards.
Repair Plan
To repair a messy bond, stop conflict cards first, then use short group activities with low emotional pressure. Green cards rebuild the safest layer of the relationship; only return to romance after the hostile pattern has cooled down.
